Bent to be fit for opener

Bent to be fit for opener
Iain Dowie will take no risks with Darren Bent's hand injury to ensure the striker is fit for Charlton Athletic's opening game of the new season.

Bent cut his hand while making a sandwich last month and there were fears he would be sidelined for six weeks with the injury.
No offense, but unless he sliced his hand OFF, I don't see how this is even an issue. Six weeks out for a hand injury? Do they realize he plays football? I think Charlton will do well this season (they always start well, don't they?) and I think the Bent/JFH partnership can really click. But now I'm worried that a hangnail could derail their whole season.

At least they still have Danny Murphy in midfield to provide service and chip in with his share of goals... What's that you say? He's where? What do you mean "behind Hassan Ghaly and Tom Huddlestone" on Tottenham's depth chart?

  1. Speaking of being fit for openers, is yahoo's league going to be fit for the opener in 2 weeks? Is yahoo still running a league? Anyone hear anything?
