Keane And Dunne To Miss Kick-Off

Keane And Dunne To Miss Kick-Off - Yahoo! Sport UK
Robbie Keane and Richard Dunne will both miss the start of the new Premiership season.
...
Potentially, the duo could each be looking at a three-game absence as both have had scans on their injuries that have revealed short-term lay-offs according to Ireland manager Steve Staunton.
...
Staunton today revealed: "In Robbie's case we are possibly looking at a 10-day period, with Richard's maybe a little longer."
So Defoe is all of a sudden a very attractive fantasy option. He's been scoring for fun in Spurs' pre-season.

As for Dunne's he's just another in a long line of Citeh injuries and departures. I think you could more easily name a Training Room XI than the team that will face Chelsea on Sunday.

Jol liked playing Mido with either Keane or Defoe last year because of Mido's size. Keane and Defoe would switch starts depending on who was hot. With Mido gone and Berbatov on the roster, who do you think Jol will play up front to start the season? Keane is obviously hurt for a few games so it will probably be Defoe and Berbatov but once Keane is back, which two do you think will start?

Spurs didn't pay 10.9 million for Berbatov to have him sit on the bench. Plus, he has been scoring goals with regularity during the pre-season.

  3. i thought that it was keane's spot to lose. however, now I think that if defoe plays well and scores goals, he will continue to play.

keane could also drop into the midfield if need be, but with only 3 strikers i wouldn't think jol would use him that way.
