PotW - Kanu-mania is Running Wild!!! Ooooohhhh Yeaaahhhh!!!

I was about to jump the gun and award the Fantasy Player of the Week (PotW) to emerging blog favorite Jimmy Bullard of Fulham. As I was typing a beautiful recounting of his sublime combination of scoring, crossing, and winning of corners I happened to check in on the Pompey/Boro match and what did I find - Kanu-mania running wild...AGAIN. From nowhere longtime blog favorite Kanu has been reborn and has scored two goals in a match for the second time in three matches. I'm not sure if his performance will end up yielding more than Bullard's 30.50 but I'm pretty sure he'll end up as the buy of the week and well-deserving of the coveted PotY...

Honorable Mention - Joining Bullard in the runners up circle are the following...

Scott Carson and Darren Bent for scoring big despite being on Charlton...

Henry and Lampard for scoring modestly big despite really crap performances in reality...

Ryan Giggs for defying his age...

Joey Barton for defying his character...

Silvestre for defying his apparent lack of talent...

Agger for scoring his first professional goal (and what a goal it was)...

Zamora for continuing his streak in the face of my prediction to the contrary...

And finally Titus Bramble for being among the points leaders on defense, who'd 've thunk it?

What a week...

agreed, where is Kanu? I figured yahoo hasn't added him yet but you make it sound like they have.

  3. I can't find him either (or Anelka or Martins or Kuyt for that matter). Doesn't mean that Kanu isn't PotY :-) Can't blame him for Yahoo's failure to add him to the mix by the time he played his 3rd match...

    Cheers - Neal

yahoo staff r idiots....y bother doing something so half heartedly? its either go all out or not at all....its a mockery that a player has got 4 goals in 2 weeks but isnt in the DB

It is rather hard to understand what is difficult about adding well-known players to their database. Though who knows.

And declaring someone Fantasy Player of the Week when he's not even in the Fantasy game...I dunno, maybe Fantasy Fantasy Player is the better description.

Have they even updated the points for Monday's game? I see that Taylor played but he hasn't been updated with a scoring line for the week.

I've heard that Yahoo will blow it from time to time. Does that mean if they miss a game, they probably won't get it at all?
