Barn Door Update

As you are working on your team, keep in mind that Chelsea (@Burnley, @Hull), Hull (Wolves, Chelsea), Fulham (Aston Villa, Portsmouth) and Portsmouth (@Manchester City, @Fulham) SHOULD be two-gamers.

However, Wolves and West Ham are NOT two-gamers as Wolves now have an FA Cup replay against Crystal Palace.

Drogba back after Ivory Coast loss? Makes things very interesting for Anelka holders :D

anelka is a sure starter.Drogba also. Maybe formation will be change.

Ivory coast is knock out. http://www.goal.com/en/news/815/african-nations-cup/2010/01/24/1759555/cote-divoire-2-3-algeria-fennecs-oust-elephants-in-thriller

  4. this caught my eye:
"Drogba was not having much of an influence on the game, the 31-year-old appearing to carry a knock. Kalou sent over a pinpoint cross to the far post, but Drogba, who already has 14 Premier League goals this season, failed to connect properly with his attempted volley."
just wonder if he may not start first week 21 match with travel/knock?

for fun i changed my team to most all doubles:

    Fulop
    Ivano,Verm,Baird
    Lamps,Gera,Geo(that would be funny),Mok
    Drog,Tevez,Nevland

but that would be dropping VDS,Rooney,Anelka,Fabregas & Pienaar

  5. i think another darkhorse pick for the week would be Hunt. He has come up big in the double gameweeks (three times)

Yeah bean, I really want to get Hunt into my lineup.

Also, I think Duff is a must, even at the price of 14+ (gone are the days when he was only 8-10 units). Both of Fulham's games are at Craven Cottage where they are strong, & one of their opponents is table-propping Pompey.

Can someone please explain where the phrase "Barn Door" originates, as it's been bugging me for weeks!

    Cheers

    Malrog,

Barn Dooring is buying up a player who has an impending price increase (due to on field performance, usually) before the price, in fact, goes up.

    Cheers,

    Kendo

Think it refers to bolting the stable door before the horse has gone;)

buying a player before his price changes!

    makes sense to me anyway!

Still not showing these as two gamers. I'm not touching my team until it does.

Yup... it's our bastardization of that phrasing. Closing the barn door before the horse bolts (prices go up). Over time it just became "on the barn door".
