The Barn Door Live - First Edition of My 40s

Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening everybody, I was going to say that it's nice not to have to deal with any cancellations this morning only to wake up to Pompey and Birmingham being melted out of all things (lots of snow + warming temperatures + heavy rains = excessively swampy pitch). I guess the only upside is that most people likely don't have too many players from this match other than those who got in on Hart when he was cheap and have held on to him.

OK - here's my line-up: Almunia, Verm, Bale, Salgado, Aquilani, Diaby, Cesc, Modric, Kranjcar, Sturridge, and Defoe.

Wow, glad I hopped on the BD in a hurry. EvDS just more than doubled in cost, Elk up by more than 8.

How about Everton so far against City? Donovan looks every bit a Premier League player so far.

Landon looks OK. Would look even better if he took the Pienaar FK...

Looks like he's going to be used to take set pieces as an assist man, while Pienaar and Baines will take the ones from scoring positions. Still, solid performance from Landon and Everton as a whole. Interesting to see how quickly they climbed from the bottom of the table back into the top half.

  4. Hmmm, so Kirkland the enabler becomes Kirkland the bargain steal! But why would Bale's price drop after posting a clean sheet, 10+ pt performance, while Anelka suddenly becomes the most expensive player in the game?!? Oh Yahoo Fantasy Football, will anyone ever truly understand you...

  5. The Keane jinx???
    A fun fact I saw.

"Spurs have only lost 5 league games this season however 4 of them have been when Keane has started. All 4 of those games Spurs have failed to score a single goal and in just about all of those games Spurs were extremely poor (possibly barring the Stoke game where we were unlucky when Lennon went off injured with 12mins remaining).

    A...Chelsea L3-0 Keane/Defoe up front
    A...Arse L3-0 Keane/Crouch up front
    H...Stoke L1-0 Keane/Crouch up front
    H...Wolves L1-0 Keane/Defoe up front
Of course let's not forget going out of the Carling Cup to Man Utd in which Keane also started."

@Owen - I feel your pain...where the hell was Crouch? This was a game spurs had to win and they just disapointed.
@David - Prices rise according to the "supply and demand" theory...I think.

Keane is already over the hill by the time he went to Liverpoool - Spurs would've won comfortably if Crouch started the game.

Other than running around like crazy, there's nothing much he does to contribute to the game. Modric has better vision & dribbling. Defoe is faster + better finishing. Crouch is a better target man & threat from set piece. Kranjcar is better crossing + dribbling.

Even during his 4 goal-spree earlier this season - all the goals were created on a platter for him. Can't create his own shots anymore.

Sad but Keano's era is over!

@ honduran-saul-if the prices are on supply-demand, y is drogbas price risin??are people gettin him despite the fact that he's at the ACN??

    ReplyDelete
  10. - Don't think many people picked up Drogs at 19. OR when he left for ACN, his price didn't drop when ALOT of people sold him.
    - Maybe they pick out of a hat! "Tuncay is....1.00!"

Yahoo price updating has been weird for a while now. Few weeks back, Myhill suddenly jumped up with +7 or something wo doing anything but sitting sideline. Then his price dropped back 2 weeks later. I think YFF got some bugs in their system or something.

i have a feeling when a big team player get 1 additional from v-manager it is equal to 5,6 or 7 time 'worthy' that of a player in a lesser team.

  13. Yes, the BD was crazy this week. For the record, the number of teams owning Drogba went DOWN (from 32% to 31%) yet his price went up. Cesc's price went down 4 units just because Arsenal played on Sunday (jump on him now before the BD closes).

@jim, arsenal playing Villa (away as well) . i will watch out(in fact i did, sold Cesc, yah, when he got high points)

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Anonymous... you mean the same Villa that had absolutely no answer to Cesc the last time they faced Arsenal? Yeah, you dropped him one week too early.

    ReplyDelete
  17. why is there only 1 assist for Eduardo. He got 2

@ jim, you mean that game that Cesc open the game up by a free-kick/ and Cesc who brilliantly injuried himself AGAIN?

i'll leave it to you, its your squad, not mine. i'll do what i think is right for me then. =)

  19. Cesc scores 25.50 points, and yet his prices drops 4.02 units to 17.51?!
    insane.

2nd eduardo assist came off of Knight's noggin before it got to goal scorer so it's not an assist.

  21. "Clint will be scanned tomorrow, but we feel it might be a posterior cruciate knee ligament, which would be very bad for us and he would be out for a while,'' Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said.

    Zamora out until March.

    AJ anyone?!

They've not updated the player values following today's games yet.
