Come and get me, Roman!

Shevchenko clears the way for Chelsea switch
AC Milan have accepted Andriy Shevchenko's transfer request but have warned Chelsea they must break the bank to land the Ukraine striker.

...

'I am leaving for family reasons - I want to thank the club for everything it's given to me,' said Shevchenko. 'There's no problems regarding my relationship with anyone in the club or any financial problems.'"
He has family in London?
"It's a victory of the English language over the Italian language." That was apparently a reference to Shevchenko's American wife who reportedly wants a move to England.
Right. It was the language barrier in Italy and not the chance to grab not a few million in Russian oil profits.

You know, this season could actually get rather boring fantasy-wise if there are a lot of new high-class players who are easily affordable.

  2. like always, seasons will come down to whose 3rd defender or 4th midfielder performs best.

or those who gut the team for henry versus those who want better players throughout their roster.

they'll still be intrigue. that i don't doubt.

  3. if the deal is on, definitely almost all will have the same line up. agree with u jeremy, it'll be boils down to the team with henry / 3rd defender / 4th midfielder will decides.

if sheva cost us at 8 this season, well, definitely the cost will shoot up much higher for the coming season. then, it will be another henry/without henry scenarios.

i think yahoo need to normalise the price after the end of each season. it'll be more logical, although not necessarily, challenging.

with henry @ 22, gerard and lampard around 18. the cost of having these 3 players in our team is 58, almost 50% from the transfer kitty.

what do u think? necessary to normalise the player cost?

I think with the Russian playing real life fantasy football and ploughing what must be approaching £300m into Chelsea players, the Premiership is becoming a mockery and 19 teams competing for second spot just isnt good enough.

Chels have bought the title and until the Russian goes then the competition is over for everyone else!

I am not a Chelsea supporter, but even if I were I'm sure after a while there must be a bitter taste to these titles which are really meaningless given their transfer funds available.

  5. Hence the importance of Fantasy Football in all of our lives :-) If the real thing isn't satisfying, our game still can be.
