Premier League Round Up

Following on from our earlier, extensive list of injuries suffered and overcome on international duty and our dilligent follow-up work, here's more news and notes from around the English Premier League.

Surgeon hints at Hargreaves return - Telegraph
"Owen should play some part on Saturday," Steadman told BBC Sport. "Our physical therapist, Luke O'Brien, has been working very closely with United's coaches on his rehab. It's been a long road back and there have been some setbacks along the way. But I've got a lot of admiration for the way Owen has responded - he's worked very hard and has never given up. Things are looking good for him now."
Surely it's not a good sign when your surgeon and physical therapist are the ones making noise about your chances for playing time. Wouldn't this carry more weight coming from Sir Alex?

Dembele targeting return
Fulham striker Moussa Dembele is closing in on a return to action after resuming training with the Cottagers...

But scans revealed only minor ankle ligament damage and Dembele feels he may soon return to action after taking part in a number of training sessions recently.
That was for Neal.

Hunt eyes weekend return
Stephen Hunt hopes to make his Wolves debut when Mick McCarthy's side host West Ham in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Republic of Ireland midfielder played in Wolves' colours for the first time on Tuesday night when the reserves went down to a 2-1 defeat against Wigan at Molineux.

It was Hunt's first game since completing his £4million summer move from Hull City.
The winger has been sidelined since February with a foot injury.

The 29-year-old played 45 minutes and is now hoping to make an appearance at the weekend.

I don't know how to interpret this, is Fabregas back on the weekend or what? What are your opinions Jeremy/Neil?

  2. Doesn't sound like it. IIRC, Wenger nursed Cesc back into the game early in the season and will likely do it again.

I'm thinking about Arshavin in this one.

  3. I'm forced to go with Nasri, just short of Arshavin. I switched from Fabregas/Chamakh to Nasri/Berbatov, and my team atm is...

    Krul
    Bale/Rio/Boateng(will go if still sick)
    Nani/Adam/Nasri/VDV/AJ
    Elmander/Berbatov

2.52 in the bank and it will help me upgrade Boateng to someone else if he still has the flu.
