Wigan have postponed Monday night's Premier League clash with near-neighbours Bolton because of the severe weather conditions in the north west.
Heavy snow in the region over the weekend has made roads treacherous in the area, although the playing surface at the DW Stadium was actually deemed playable.
However, safety concerns regarding the public areas surrounding the ground, which are still covered in snow and ice, meant the club had no option but to call off the match.
So those of us - including myself and Neal - who have bet on or against Bolton are stuck with zero points for the week. Remember when we talked about the a player being red carded in the first of a week's two matches as being the most frustrating thing about fantasy? Well I forgot about weather related postponements. ARGH! I'm so mad I could kick a puppy.
that means we will not get any point from the players...

ReplyDeleteYou can't kick puppies at Christmas Jeremy!!
ReplyDeleteHow did you do this week? I managed my all time worst score of 30...had Kirkland left to play but was worried about negative points so I'll take the zero! Bad times...
Merry Xmas to you, Neal & all your blog readers!
AM
I had 34 points with Scharner and Scotland left so no chance to somewhat redeem my team. Damn you cruel winter!
ReplyDeletePostponed WIG-BOL means that Kirkland this week is a true DNH keeper! I'll take that....
ReplyDeletei had klasnic against kirkland so i am mixed in my feelings. this is just another in a long line of recent examples that my luck has gone.
ReplyDelete62 points with Klasnic and Lee idle. Grrrr!
ReplyDeleteI kept pace with those around me, but lost the opportunity to move ahead.
37 with Klasnic idle also. Worst week I have had in the 3 years I've been playing the game.
ReplyDelete54 point with Kirkland not playing..
ReplyDeleteBut this amount also only just enough to keep my position but losing chance to move ahead.
Merry Christmas to you all..
If I replace Defoe&Heitinga with Givet&Saha, will it be a good move? I like it, but a confirmation from the experts would be great.
ReplyDeleteSF
Or maybe Klasnic instead of Saha?

98 pts and I was quietly confident about Kirkland I have to say. Still I'll take this one as it comes. Means there will be an unexpected DG somewhere...
ReplyDeleteWhat was that about Bolton being dead to us??? Thank goodness, is all I can say after a second consecutive dismal weekend.
ReplyDeleteI got 98.50. Cant they give us the points once the game is played??
ReplyDeletePhew.. good news for me. At least i still at the top in my league. Anyway Merry Christmas to those who celebrate it. Haih.. don't know when i will get a chance to touch the snow.. :D
ReplyDelete51.5 which is pretty good by this week's standards - I had Klasnic though, but c'est la vie I guess. Probbo netting me -8 didn't do me any favours. Should have picked Kirkland :-D
ReplyDelete75 with klasnic and jordi jordi going...CRAP. i got klasnic on the cheap before his little streak, and i was hoping he could pull a little defoe on wigan and bag 5 for me ;)
ReplyDeleteWTF.... i pick off three bolton and wigan player...
ReplyDeleteJeremy is taking the penalty kick. He shoots. He scores!! Aww...that poor puppy
ReplyDeleteLee, Yayga, and Kirkland going. Bummed. It's Wigan v. Bolton, the fifteen spectators would have managed just fine with a bag of rocksalt.
ReplyDeleteArgh! Cursed weather. I had Yayga, Taylor, and N'Zogbia this week :-(
ReplyDeleteI ended up with 46.5 which by our private group's standard was pretty good. What kills me is that I was the most heavily invested in the only match to be postponed and my closest rival in second place managed a measly 16 points after several weeks of gaining ground on me. I was hoping for a big return on the tail end to really turn the screws on him for a poor week.
Alas such is my luck :-P
I had Scharner, N'Zogbia and Klasnic. Darn!
ReplyDelete83 point without klasnic, roda and lee to play. what a pain.
