The Barn Door Live - Nov. 7

Here's my squad for the weekend
Given, Verm, Heiti, Gibbs, Fab4, MPet, DDunn, BFAR, Drogs, Bellamy, Campbell

and here's Jeremy's team for those interested...
Given, Verm, Heiti, Gibbs, Emerton, BFAR, DDunn, Collison, RvP, Bellamy, Drogs

Looking ahead to next week (OK, two weeks from now since there's another International break coming up next weekend) - Rovers, Fulham, Everton, and Hull are all 2-gamers.  None are exceptionally exciting based on the quality of the clubs and the match-ups (Everton - the best of the group - is on the road twice with one being ManYoo; Rovers - both on the road - against teams that are playing better than they are; Fulham is on the road against Brum who aren't terrible at home and home to Rovers; and Hull are, well, Hull.

Outside of the two-gamers Chelsea host Wolves and Stoke host Pompey.

Live chat after the jump.

Had Verm and Gibbs, so Craddock just cost me 12 pts.

I'm glad I stuck with Campbell, he didn't score but got me back 9 pts. @3.35...not bad if you ask me. Also, thanks for the Bellamy Recommendation Jeremy, he did alright.
Anyways, I have 45.50 pts so far but with only Heitinga/Fletcher/Drogba to play...man-oh-man, why couldn't BFAR and MTay do their usual this week...sigh!
Don't know what I'm gonna do with the double gamers in a couple of weeks but we'll see.

Six points for a CS, Jeremy...so that would be actually be 12 points.

I'm also on 45.5 points, but have Heit/Babel/Drogs/Yayga to play. My week pretty much hinges on Yayga. Hopefully he puts a few bombs by Fulham.

  6. wow. I'm sitting on 18.5 with Heit/Drogs/Hunt/Aquilini.
    Worst week ever. Mulligan?!

Wow Owen, that doesn't look too good. Given was a big disapointment this week, surely I thought it was 100% clean sheet...boy was I wrong.

  8. Although I was pretty annoyed by Craddock's last gasp goal, I wasn't too bothered seeming as all the decent managers had Verm and Gibbs...at least in my private leagues. I am sat on a pretty pitiful 36.50pts with JonnyH, Yoshi, Drogs and Beats to play...hoping to hit the high 70's. I have a good feeling that the majority of managers are going to experience a relatively low scoring week..unless they loaded up on Villa today!

  9. 48 point with Drog, Babel, Sonko (hopefully play, win and cean sheet) to play..

    any banrdoor player recommendation?

Ohara, Dunn, Alexander, Arshavin all got me double digit points w/ Defoe being a dissapointment. I am on 63.5 with Drogs, Rodallega, Benayoun ad Spector coming up...another 100 point week! Robbo did his job, 3 points for his cost

Didnt pick Areid and Bent, a lot of others in my league did...feel very lucky! Post and penalty save, brilliant.

@Ketz - Good luck with the Beattie pick, really! I went with Bellamy, wich wasn't too bad, but I feel Beattie will notch 20 somethings...don't know, I just have a feeling. I'm exited about the United v. Chelsey game for tomorrow. UNITED all the way baby!!! And no I didn't invest in any United players, that's my team. Laters,

  14. 54 pts with Sonko, Benayoun, Rodallega and Hines left to play. I dropped Drogba at 13 coz they're playing United. I wouldn't want to be cheering on Drogba against the team I'm supporting for my whole life.

  15. Disappointing from Verm, Gibbs, Fab4 and RVP this week. I loaded up on Arsenal and I expected more against Wolves. Verm stopped scoring consistently. Time to drop him for a two-gamer perhaps?

44 points with kyrgiakos(hopefully to play), Benayoun, Hunt and Drogba to play..
hope Benayoun and Hunt give me 20+ some points..
I just have the feeling that benayoun will score tonight..hehe

Do you think Zamora is a good bet?
I saw an option in which I could get O'Shea and 2 of Defoe/Gabby/Berbatov if I drop Zamora+RvP+Wilkinson. It seems like a good bet, but nevertheless I'll have then only 2 double-gamers (Hunt and Fellaini), while none of them from Fulham.
Is is a good bet after all?

you know what DF, I think u should keep Zamora+RvP+Wilko for the next game..
of course because fulham will have 2 games and RvP is on form right know..he is more consistent than Defoe/Berbs..

  20. But Sgt Wilko has lost his place to Huth, so you can at least drop him. I would keep RvP and Zamora is in good form heading into a double week.

  21. Olofinjana! What is it about playing a former team!?! Darren Bent, excluded. Of course.

    Nelsen or Heitinga?
It's a strange choice to make, because I don't believe any of them will get a CS in any of their matches...

I have a question...is Vermaelen really worth it, even at 6.02? I mean, he's facing Sunderland away ,Chelsea at home, Stoke at home, and then Liverpool away in the next few games. Arsenal has been leaking goals and cannot keep a clean sheet...I'm thinking it may be time to make ground over everyone else. What do you think, switch to a double gamer?

yup...verm is really worth..i will keep him except he is injured

@ Vermaelendoubter, you always reach a point like this whenever youre keeping a player long term. I would suggest that he is worth keeping - no-one is keeping clean sheets right now, vermaelen plays for a top 3 side and is a proven goal threat. Its easy to want to swap him out for a double gamer etc. but three weeks down the line when all the decent defenders cost 10 and youre trying to afford Gerrard or someone you'll probably regret it! That said ive been doing rubbish this year so make your own decision...

I guess you guys are right about the Verm, I doubted him for a second cause he hasn't been producing lately.
Anyway, where can I get a double gamer midfielder that will produce @ the price of 6.61?

ACole is injured!!! Who will replace him against Wolves?

  28. @Anonymous, Greening maybe?

  29. I rreally am flummoxed as to who to go with on the ol' double weeker...I'm really not feeling any of them, thinking about going some of the obvious single gamer but it goes against my policy of loading up on double weekers...urrrrgh! I always do pretty well when loading up...what to do, what to do?

    @Ketz

Here are the only players who interest me:

Hull: Hunt, Bullard, Myhill (if playing)

Everton: Heitinga, Saha (despite @Utd, they have @Hull too so likely to at least get 1 game out of 2 here)

Fulham: Baird (middie playing defense for 5.03)

Blackburn: Givet, Dunn, Emerton, Robinson (cheap 2-game GK)

  31. What about JRoberts? I think he should play more minutes than he did in the past few games after that 2-goal performance as a sub! Probably Di Santo to drop to the bench? I have Carew on the BD too. Villa are on a roll and quite hard not to notice that.
