Robin van Persie in line for shock Tottenham return

The headline is a bit in-artful.  No, he's not rejoining Spurs.  But he could be playing against them next week According to the Mail Online.
Robin van Persie could be in line for a sensational return against Tottenham next week after Arsenal's chief physio Colin Lewin revealed the striker will begin full training 'imminently'.

The Dutchman looked set to be ruled out for the remainder of the season after damaging ankle ligaments in an international friendly against Italy in November.

But Van Persie could now be included in Arsenal's injury-hit squad for the crucial north London derby on Wednesday, as the Gunners look to bounce back from their defeat in Barcelona and ensuing exit from the Champions League.

'Robin will be joining the squad for full training imminently. That is a big boost for the club and will give everyone a big lift,' Lewin told Arsenal.com.

I'll believe it when I see it, but if I see it I'll sure as hell be trying to get him into my fantasy team!

  1. I wonder how this will affect Bendtner.

  2. Even if he did start vs. Spurs I wouldn't pay all that cash for him...he could still pick up a nock early in the game and have to be subbed, waste of 21.41(more than 20% of your cash).

  3. yea...even if he is back, no way anyone should pay that much for his first game after a long spell on the sidelines

  5. @madguys - I didn't even pay that amount of cash for Rooney or Drogba when they were on fire...just doesn't make sence how his price always stayed the same.

  6. nobody is going to jump on the van persie bandwagon, until he has played a few games. it was the same with clint dempsey, everyone knew he needed many weeks before he would start. the best thing is, that van persie comes in late on 2 or 3 weeks and does very little fantasy wise, then his price will drop. i desperately want van persie and a shock return for cesc, to lead arsenal the the premier league title. ain't gonna happen, but can dream!

I really hope this isn't true. I need the Bedntner train to go to the end of line. Not end 5 stops early.

Van Persi Is a big boost for Arsenal even though he is not going to be at his best. But his physical appearance counts as well. He is great finisher and assister. Also Arne Wenger Will have the option of choosing between Bednter and Van Persie, which is an advantage.

Hope Arsenal goes all the way, They really desereve it this seasom more than anyone.

    GOOOO AESNAL!!!!!!!!!!!
