Well, it's finally official.
So, does this, combined with Scholes' return, move Giggs back to the left and O'Shea to the bench? Is a Scholes/Carrick central midfield the way to go for United? And who from Scholes, Giggs, Ronaldo, and Carrick will take responsibility for set pieces?Michael Carrick signed for Manchester United on Monday evening after the final details of his £18.6million move from Tottenham were finalised.
United officials confirmed the deal had been done, with Carrick coming through a medical and agreeing personal terms.
I think this is a decent move for United. I think the set piece question depends on where the ball is placed. C-Ron seems better suited for the left side of goal higher distance set pieces. But then that might be Carrick's pref. too. I think O'Shea becomes a utility guy and rides the bench most of the time. While Giggs was great in the middle of the park, he's a left winger and he's most dangerous out there - great to have him back there.
