Barca close to Zambrotta and Thuram deals

The rich get richer. Barca were vulnerable at fullback last year and now they add two world-class players. Thuram also gives them cover at center back should there be an injury or if Marquez is pushed up into midfield. Anyone going to bet against them retaining for CL crown for another season?

And why aren't they going to Chelsea? Money probably isn't the problem. Is the Spanish league more attractive than the EPL? Or is it just Barca that is more glamorous?

I am willing to say its all of those things plus the intagible: the weather. Ronaldinho said as much in his snub of ManYoo for Barca...

  3. As much as I would have loved to see Thuram at Emirates Stadium, if I were choosing between insanely lucrative offers at the end of an even more lucrative career, I think I'd avoid London weather at all costs. Not like either guy is worried about feeding his family.

It's probably because much like most of the world, they can't stand being associated with Moaninho and his Russian Godfather

how about the simple fact that they obviously like to win. barcelona will dominate spanish/european football for the next two to three years. Chelsea can spend all the money they want, but with Ronaldinho, Messi and Rijaard everyone else is a distant second. Also, La Liga right now is far superior to the Premier League and seems to be consolidating its position as the top European league.
