Just to reiterate

The most obvious thing to point out to fantasy managers is that Arsenal are entering a stretch of games where they SHOULD do very well. Sheffield United this week followed by @Charlton, Watford, and @Reading before they host an Everton squad that is one of the better stories in the Premiership so far this season. This should have you thinking strategically about how to get and keep a few Arsenal players for the next month or so.

UPDATE: Just to spell it out further... Henry is the key, if you can afford him. He's just that good. And due. Dear lord is he due! Cesc is probably the second best bet as he's a certain starter and as Neal said, he does all the little things that get you points.

In the "probably a good idea" category are Eboue and Gallas, and Adebayor who looks likely to start alongside Henry.

On the "2 from 3" shelf are Rosicky, Ljundberg and Hleb -- two of whom will be the wide midfielders. I'm guessing the first two on the left and right, respectively.

Odd men out, though perhaps cheap substitutes who could make an impact, would be Robin van Persie up top and Julio Baptista in the midfield.

    but which ones?

I'm thinking Addy, Henry, Rosicky, and Cesc for sure but how about RVP, Freddie, or Julio?

Hmmmmmmm. Dismantle my 3 Man U attackers to get 3 Arsenal guys, or wait until Saturday? That is the question.

the way i see it - stick with man utd this weekend - i am still not sold on how fit henry is and sheffield doesnt strike me like an opponent worth risking aggrevating the golden leg.. besides they beat manutd without him:)

my bet is shevchenko will have a brace [how long does it take to settle in???] fulham is playing with 7 defenders however:) but i just have that gut feeling..

    good luck

I'm going with the blog on this one. The manager who wins his league is the manager who picks TH at the right time. He's the key to success in this game invariably.

So from Arsenal it's Henry, Fabregas, Rosicky, and Eboue for me. I'm gunning for 50 pts from this quartet.

Fate85: FWIW Lehmann in this game doesn't get the same love as a Cech or a Reina does, and this season his avg points per match is abysmal: somewhere around 2.

But, picking based on the matchup he would be a good play this week as the Blades can't score to save their Premiership lives, or so it seems.

I've stuck with Howard but that's just because I've got him cheap...

Went with a compromise -- kept my Man U guys, but found just enough points to swap in Eboue, Cesc, and Jens. We'll see how that works.

  9. Good job Chris O - Cesc with the assist, Lehmann with a CS, Eboue with both!

I have Henry, Rosicky, Eboue, Djourou, Toure and Lehmann. Rosicky didn't do much - should have got Cesc really.

I expected Heskey to do something special today but he was disappointing, as was Angel. Scholes didn't do too well either.

Duff and Pompey's Davis to go!

Oh dear. Turned out they were sorta-right calls, but the thing I'm really glad about is keeping Ronaldo. Jens and Eboue did perfectly alright, as did Cashley Cole, but geeeeez Angel, Saha (substitute!), Ashley Young, Assou-Ekotto stunk it up, and Petrov, Fabregas, and Rooney underperformed. I guess I shouldn't feel too bad though cause if Everton stink it up I'll be ahead of Jeremy. =)

cesc, for the first time, screwed it up - especially with that yellow. time to get more gunners to join him in the team, maybe after charlton away.

by the law of averages, rooney should come good, so thinking of rooney-henry and scrimping on everyone else.

very bad week, had option of ronaldo + sheva or robben + saha, picked the latter, 2.5 pts instead of 28! Also chose this week to drop lampard :(
