Real New York

... Indeed, [Steinbrenner's] deluded policy of having galacticos -- supposedly the superstars of superstars -- and an anonymous supporting cast continues to plague the club ...

And I was at the San Diego Zoo yesterday. Creepy. ;-)

  1. now for an informed opinion. Another year without a ring is a disappointment, but perhaps this was the year the yankees showed more of what they are all about. Those "overpriced" stars dealt with 4 of their five starting pitchers going down and still overcame a 5 game lead by the dead sox. One team stepped up and the other team from the AL East - the one that has yet to win a division in recent memory - collapsed.

Changes are coming, to be sure. Anyone want to bet the yanks do not put themselves in a position to win again next year?

  4. I'm sorry, did the Yankees win or lose? Last time I checked, the Yanks and the Sox finished with the same record and didn't win the Series.

  5. I just thought the parallels with Real Madrid were striking. Huge success built on a tenuous strategy that got revealed after a few years.

The question is, how do you deal with it?

Can the Yankees buy Jonothan Woodgate?
