Arsenal Get Four Back

Injured quartet may return to face Liverpool | News Archive | News | Arsenal.com:
Arsène Wenger hopes to have four players back for the visit of Liverpool this weekend.

Johan Djourou (shoulder) and Wojciech Szczesny (finger) were last seen departing major cup ties against Manchester United and Barcelona respectively and both face fitness tests ahead of Sunday's Premier League clash.

Alex Song (knee) and Denilson (toe) could return to bolster Arsenal's midfield but Bacary Sagna (knee) is a major doubt while goalkeeper Manuel Almunia (knee) is also doubtful.

So in addition to Szczesny and Djourou as possible 2-gamers, Eboue remains a viable option. Especially if you got him at last week's price.

Sagna set for three weeks out

Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna set for three week on sidelines with thigh injury | Mail Online

Arsenal and France defender Bacary Sagna expects to be on the sidelines for another three weeks as he continues his recovery from a left thigh injury.

The 27-year-old is sitting out Les Bleus' Euro 2012 qualifying double header against Romania and Luxembourg due to the problem, and does not plan to rush his return.

He told French television programme Stade 2: 'It's okay. I'm currently in rehabilitation. It will take three weeks. I'll take my time to get back.'

That seismic shift you feel is everyone who owns Etuhu selling him and buying Eboue who is a 4.79 midfielder.

Injuries and Suspensions - Week 5

Premier League team news - Barclays Premier League - ESPN Soccernet

Not much of consequence from either Liverpool or Citeh's matches in Europa Cup on Thursday as far as injuries go.  Here are the bits of news that you should be focused on as you make the final adjustments to your rosters for the weekend:

Walcott Out for Two Weeks

Premier League - Walcott set for spell on sidelines - Yahoo! Eurosport

Arsenal winger Theo Walcott's ankle injury sustained during England's 3-1 win over Switzerland in Basel is not as bad as first feared, but he still faces up to two weeks on the sidelines...

After finding Glen Johnson out wide, Walcott continued his run into the Swiss box, only to trip over Steve von Bergen's outstretched leg just before Wayne Rooney tapped home Johnson's cross from close range.

The 21-year-old was taken to hospital for a precautionary X-ray on his ankle, but the scan revealed he had merely sprained rather than broken it.

England manager Fabio Capello said after the match: "It's a little problem, but not a big problem. We will have to wait to see how it is.

"I spoke with Theo and he told me it is not a big problem. I said 'two weeks?'. He said less."

I'm tipping Eboue to take the right-side of the front three spot, and for 5.55 looks a good bet at home against an admittedly tough-looking Bolton.

Walcott is the only doubt for North London derby

“The injury news is quite good compared to last week,” Arsène Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday afternoon. “The only one who is problematic is Theo Walcott. He is not fit to practice. He has had flu and has not recovered completely. Everybody else is available.”

Therefore Emmanuel Eboue is fit despite being stretchered off against Avram Grant’s side.

Sagna Close To Arsenal Move?

Arsenal could complete the signing of Bakary Sagna from Auxerre today, according to reports in France.

French daily L'Equipe say the 24-year-old right-back is currently in London and is ready to complete a medical once the two clubs agree on a fee.

The highly-rated defender, who is expected to cost the Gunners around £7.5million, is tipped to become Willy Sagnol's long-term replacement at right-back in the France side.

Would this move Eboue up into the midfield? I've heard that possibility mooted before - that he's a better attacker than defender and his future lay further up the pitch. That would be interesting for fantasy managers because even with a 9 or 10 unit price tag, Eboue listed as a defender but playing in midfield would be a must have. And then you have a new starting right-back for Arsenal. A fantasy win-win!

(For arguements sake, say Hoyte now goes out on loan to another Premiership club. Then you could have all Arsenal right-back fantasy defenders.)
