More United news, none of it good.
[Michael Carrick], making only his second appearance since completing his big-money switch from Tottenham, was caught from behind by Kenneth Perez and although he attempted to continue, it proved too much and he quickly hobbled off.
It was the last thing Sir Alex Ferguson needed as he was already missing five players through injury, plus Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes, who could yet be suspended for the start of United's Premiership campaign following their dismissals in Friday night's win over Porto.
Rooney and Scholes were joined on the sidelines by injured duo Rio Ferdinand and John O'Shea, plus Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is being eased back to full fitness following a three-year injury nightmare.
