Petrov should be in line to make his Villa debut against West Ham at Upton Park on September 10.Finally, a decent signing in the midfield. No offense to Ballack or Rosicky, but after Martins, Anelka, etc, I was beginning to wonder.
His arrival will provide competition in midfield for Gavin McCann and Steven Davis who have impressed during Villa's fine start to the Premiership campaign.
Not sure how he'll fit in as McCann and Davis are pretty established in that midfield. McCann as the workhorse, and Davis as the up-and-coming box to box star.
Perhaps Petrov is able to play on the right-side of midfield? That would make the most sense, and give them balance with Barry on the left.
