ShePlays NWSL Fantasy: Final Draft Team

Final should be in quotation marks. Maybe it's final; maybe it's not. We'll get lineups 45 minutes before the games (and before the fantasy deadline) tonight so really anything could happen.

But after a long series of increasingly outlandish tinkers -- Solorzano? Watt? Freeman? -- I've settled on the following team. Maybe.

So, what's new?

Giving up on McKeown. Again.

I wrote before, "I never had McKeown in my team last season after relying on her in 2023. This year, I'm correcting that mistake." Maybe not. She's just too expensive, and in the end, I'm hoping that I can get 80% of her value from Casey Krueger for 70% of the price.

Benching Avery Patterson. Maybe.

This one is very contingent on the lineups. Houston is the home team tonight, and the stadium will be rocking. There are expectations around the Dash this season. Ain't that something?

That being said, I'm going to bet on the experience of Krueger and the Spirit and start the visitor. Unless...

If Patterson is lined-up in the front line (Patterson, Olivieri, Ryan?) I will likely reconsider their order in my fantasy team.

Using the funds

What to do with the $100k from the Spirit downgrade? Why you use it to double-down on the Spirit, of course. Welcome back Leicy Santos the the lineup! I don't love the Spirit attack yet, but she was so consistently good last season without that talent around her, that I'm happy to have her at her price. It's just good value. It's a much better option than Gia Corley.

That's all, folks. For now. I'll probably post my last-minute changes on BlueSky as I won't get a full post in.

Enjoy the rush; enjoy the games! Welcome back.
