Antonio Valencia suffers suspected broken ankle

BBC Sport - Football - Antonio Valencia suffers suspected broken ankle
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson fears Antonio Valencia suffered a broken ankle in his side's 0-0 Champions League draw with Rangers.

The Ecuadorian was stretchered off after going down under an innocuous-looking tackle from Gers' defender Kirk Broadfoot in the 62nd minute.

Winger Valencia, 25, was taken straight to hospital after the game.

"It looks like a dislocation and a fracture and will keep him out for a long time," said Ferguson.

How much more valuable does this make Nani?

Not much imho, because Valencia doesn't challenge Nani for kicks or playing time.

  3. Anon, I agree with the former but not the latter. And I do think it makes him more valuable. Is he worth more than FloMa, say? That's a bigger question.

@Jeremy: Really tough to call because both Nani and FloMo are both similar in a lot of ways YFF wise. Crosses, corners, etc. But I think Flomo still takes his chances for goals better and crosses better than Nani. Given the match ups are right, is there any excuse not to got both?

Kellz, the only reason I don't have both is it would mean dropping Gareth Bale who for the money is a lot better, or worse Drogba. There are also a lot of cheap middies who outperform their value and Nani's consistency is a question.

  6. Bigger question: who fills in on the right? Park wouldn't be that interesting, but if rafael gets pushed up, or it means more time up front for chicawhateverhisnameis then that could be very interesting.
