Javier Hernandez - The Forgotten Man
UPDATE: I guess the secret is out. Neal has included Chicharito in his Week Ahead Player Picks. Great minds, and all that.
###
Word on the street - and by street I mean Twitter - is that Danny Welbeck is going to return to training next week following his hamstring injury. In the meantime, Javier Hernandez is going to start against Bolton Wanderers, at Bolton, and to me looks a good fantasy bet. He's only 10 in the Yahoo! game, and I assume that he'll keep his starting place even if Welbeck recovers quickly. With a lot of good striking options like Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie costing a pretty penny, and uncertainty over some of the cheaper options like Juan Mata and Bryan Ruiz for example, Hernandez good be a value for money pick.

He's a no brainer imo. Love the title since I hadn't seen too many people with him in the team. He's been in my team for a week already, after seeing Welbeck go off with a hammie. With Ashley Young and Nani flanking him, I'd say he'll get plenty of crosses to convert for goals/SOT's

Thinking of going from Bosingwa to Brown (against CHE, yuck!) to move K2 to Hernandez. Gotta keep RvP for this week and next (Rovers).
ReplyDeletei imagine he is going to bust his *ss to make sure he keeps that spot, no? so i'm imagining a great performance.
ReplyDeletelots of imagining, though. is he a safe bet to start?
ReplyDeleteCould the forgotten man be...Arshavin??? He's been off the radar for a while but it seems he could very well come out of his shell vs. Swansea. Any thoughts?
ReplyDelete@Alex - It's a pretty sure bet. Remember that the last 6 months of last season the partnership between Rooney/Chicharito was unseparable. Only reason Chicharito hasn't started any of the games ahead of Welbeck is because he had a head concusion, which seems to not be bothering him now. He came of the bench last game. Even if Welbeck has shacken of his injury, SAF has no need to rush him back. Seems like a sure bet to me. Rooney himself even mentioned he can't wait to re-unite with Chicharito so, for whatever that means.

My team atm:
ReplyDeleteDeGea
Mertesacker/Fabio/Brown
Silva/Walcott/SWP/Kranjcar(Super Hunch)
Chicharito/RVP/Suarez
I actually love this team, unless I can find concrete evidence telling me any of the players will not be on the pitch. Taking a few gambles but if those gambles pay off, I'll sky rocket to the top :)

Surely Berbatov is more forgotten!
ReplyDeleteI think the 'Forgotten Man' should be a new segement prior to every week's fixtures.

And Man U has just been awesome on the road right?
ReplyDeleteGunnerArt
Good call on Chicharito. Thing is, I'll never pick him. I hate ManU and Mexico (football) so congrats anyway!
ReplyDelete@Anon... I don't want to tread on Nicky Butt's "Funny Feeling Friday", but thanks for the idea.
