Out
Out
- Craig Gardner - Suspended via straight red card after a great opening to the season #ShockLeadingScorer
- Adlene Guedioura - Finally went positive for the fantasy year with 4.5 points last week and then had his leg broken - out 4 to 6 months #JustGettingStarted
- Stephen Hunt - Back in training but still not ready to go #Waiting
- David Dunn - Hamstring...again #SongRemainsTheSame
- Kieran Richardson - Hamstring...again #NotThatYouCare
- Wayne Rooney - Played golf midweek but apparently not fit (physically? mentally?) to start for United #OddSaga
- Gabriel Agbonlahor - Apparently he needs groin surgery and will be out for a while #Ouch
- Moussa Dembele - Still not ready to return meaning Fulham will have two midfielders lining up as forwards this weekend #GeraContinues
- Pablo Zabaleta - Tweaked his hammy in Europa Cup action #Boyata?Lescott?
- Paul Konchesky, Fabio Aurelio, and Daniel Agger - All out meaning Liverpool might actually be missing Insua this weekend #AvoidKellyAnyway
- Frank Lampard - From hernia issues to groin issues - not fun times #EssienStillTheMan
- Salomon Kalou/Yossi Benayoun - Both out but you weren't bringing them in anyway #UselessInfo
- Cesc Fabregas, Kieran Gibbs, Manuel Almunia, Thomas Vermaelen, Nicklas Bendtner, Aaron Ramsey, Theo Walcott, and Robin van Persie - A holding midfielder, right back, and center back away from an excellent starting XI and all injured. #Sigh
- Tony Hibbert - He has trained all week after being out last weekend #ColemanQuestionable
- Ricardo Fuller - What they fail to mention is that he wasn't starting even when healthy #ThirdStriker
- Jermaine Pennant - Still in the process of recovery and no definitive word on whether he will play this weekend #WaitOneMoreWeek
- Rio Ferdinand (plus Carrick and Anderson) - They've been really bad without him so the value of all ManYoo defenders and EvdS are tied to his presence #LinchPin
- Ledley King - Groin...knees...the usual #SongRemainsTheSame
- Craig Gordon - No word on whether Mignolet will keep his spot or whether Gordon will win it back #DoesntMatter
- Richard Dunne - Not sure why he WOULDN'T go straight back into the line-up but we've never understood Houlier #TurningTheCorner
- Gary Cahill - Back from suspension #Boost
- Kieron Dyer - At least he changed it up last week and was ill instead of injured #Yawn
"A holding midfielder, right back, and center back away from an excellent starting XI..."
ReplyDeleteWasn't that Arsenal's problem BEFORE the injuries?
And a keeper? #NotMuchOfAnArsenalIsIt
ReplyDeleteAlmunia IS a keeper, but I'm with you, it's hard to know sometimes...
ReplyDeleteNeal - I would not say an excellent starting 11 as Arsenal have not won a single trophy in years, and that's considering that Wenger has been working with this team for 3 years already, new faces, and still nothing to show.
ReplyDeleteManchester United are much better than you give them credit. SAF, like Wenger, has been working with the youth for years and giving them a chance to play. Don't underestimate them, they have experience...they showed it in last years Carling cup, which they won. And yes, Manchester United are good! They're not firing on all cylinders right now, but just wait when they do.
@Jeremy+Neal: I am really tempted to try a shot on Zhyrkov who I have been reading will come in for Ramieres. At only 4 and change, how confident do you feel that he will start? With Ancelotti gone until Sunday it seems we won't be getting concrete lineup news. If not I think I'll settle for Boyota, finally a cheap Citeh defender that actually plays.
ReplyDeletei think yankee was saying that even though those 8 players include a keeper, they're still a keeper away (among others) from an excellent starting XI. arguably true, although i think "excellent starting XI" is not nearly as strong a claim as "11 excellent starters," so it's possible to have a starting XI that qualifies as "excellent" even with almunia in goal.
ReplyDeleteWhat's wrong with Arsenal's training methods? Is it a coincidence that half of the squad is injured...
ReplyDeleteany word on salcido starting? im just playing a fantasy version where prices change after 3 games. if salcido plays he's gonna increase by alot due to last 2 good games.
ReplyDeleteThis is a difficult week to pick up V_V.
ReplyDeleteAndo was rest last 15 mins @Valencia, so I think he will start. Sir AF knows how "dangerous" Sunderland is, so he could end up with 5 midfielders like this:
Nani - Flet - Gibs - Ando - Park (Carrick is subs)
Do you think like me?
Hey, buddies, what do you think about this midfield team:
Adam - VdV - Silva - Nani - Malouda
I am not sure about Silva? Any advice? Thx a lot.
