Blackburn have signed experienced Danish defender Lars Jacobsen on a two-year deal. This could turn out to be a good signing for fantasy managers on two fronts. One, if Jacobsen is a cheap option at the back he may well be value for money. With Jacobsen, Nelsen, Samba and Givet, Allardyce could have a very solid backline put together.
Jacobsen, 29, spent last season at Everton but made only four starts for the FA Cup finalists.
He becomes Blackburn's third signing of the summer following the arrivals of midfielder Elrio van Heerden and left-back Gael Givet.
Jacobsen will fill the gap let by the departures of right-backs Andre Ooijer and on-loan Danny Simpson.
Two, if the above back four means that Stephen Warnock is allowed to push into midfield - maybe to replace Tugay as a deep-lying playmaker - well, all the better. Remember the success that Allardyce had building a side around Jay Jay Okocha? What if Warnock is that player for him going forward?
Did you just compare Stephen Warnock to Jay Jay Okocha?
