Barn Door Live - Snow-bound (Again) Edition

Welcome, we probably got another 2 feet of snow since mid-day yesterday.  Just crazy for a city that usually gets one or two small to medium-sized storms per year.  Here's my line-up...

EdvS, Verm, Bale, Hutton, Eth, MPet, Lee, McCarthy (Wig), Drogs, Tevez, and K2.

OK, off to Liverpool for the derby...

  1. Going all out on Man Utd's double week. VDS, Brown, Valencia, Rooney for next week. I think Evans will most likely to give way to either Vidic (if he comes back). No idea what happened to Vidic, not listed as injured but not even in the subs.

Not picking up Berbs because I'm not sure he will start both games with Owen and Diouf. Went with Drogs at 20 instead. This will really hurt if Drogs doesn't score a hattrick.

No updates from Yahoo yet for most of yesterday's games. The barn door has been open a long time, but unfortunately on a day where it doesn't really benefit anyone much.

Chucho went out through injury (63rd minute or so) so I just barn doored Carlton Cole to replace him for next week. He may just be a placeholder.

  5. Hey guys should I somehow try to fit in Rooney or just go for berbatov?

Depends on what other transactions would be needed to fit in Rooney. With the way SAF messes with lineups, I'm not sold on anyone on ManU next week except Rooney. And maybe Van Der Sar if I was holding him already.

Well I can fit Rooney in by having the following team...
    D.James
    Bale/Evra/Hutton
    Whitehead/Nani/Etherington/Milner
    C.Cole/Kalinic/Rooney

I'm not sure Rooney @24.xx is worth it. I'd have to weaken my team elsewhere as you can see.

I think that team looks solid actually. Plus you can pull money to upgrade spots if you want to-----Evra, Nani----I realize they are two gamers, but will they play both? Evra probably will, but will be outproduce players that are cheaper? Tough questions. This week might cause some differentiation for a change.

    wow, BD BONANZA!

  11. Maybe with this week being streched out is the reason why points haven't been updated and the BD is wide open.
not ALOT to choose from, Rooney's price will go up, but other than that?! I see slim picking really. Wait till mid week games to re-calculate team accordingly.

p.s. damn, had him. this is certainly a cranky season. tough luck(esp. on a day DD did nothing much and had 2 goals). =)

    Hey, Neal and Jeremy.

I wonder if you two ever go over to the Fantasist's blog and post, "WHERE ARE THE F%#@#?!!NG POINTS. WANKER!"

After all the similar posts you put up with over your time in the Yahoo gulag, I thought you might deserve a bit of karmic and cathartic release.

Gary Cahill apparently out for the season with a blood clot in his arm. What a strange, unfortunate way to go. He probably won't make the World Cup squad now.

83.5 points for this week. Slowly climbing from 8000++ overall rank last month to 3314 today.

Thank you Jeremy+Neal, and all of you :-)

  17. Jeremy/Neal,

I'm sure i've noticed Glory Glory Zizo Kuwait in the top 10 of the leaderboard in previous seasons, and hkbff.net appears regularly in the top 10.

What do you think makes these guys so consistently succesful? Have you ever analysed what these guys do week in week out? I note that they have no sentiment, they never keep players for any duration, and only pick those players against weak opposition.

    Just wanted your thoughts,

    Rac.

  18. @Rac. I've wondered this as well. I went to the site to read their forum's but it's all in a language my computer doesn't understand. Do they all pick the same team each week?

  19. Hi Nick
HKBFF is a hong kong based chinese forum
they dont pick the same team, but they analyze matches just like Neal and Jeremy do
lots of teams pick up players at barndoor to afford better players is what i noticed.
