Racing to join Petrov on the sidelines?
City duo doubtful for Villa clash
Big-money striker Emmanuel Adebayor is struggling to shake off a thigh problem, whilst former Villa midfielder Gareth Barry is doubtful for the encounter with his former club after picking up a hamstring injury.Time to scrape together the extra buck to move from K2 to Defoe. I gutted from Vanden Borre to Mancienne at the back to do just that.
Manager Roberto Mancini must also decide whether to draft Martin Fulop straight into his starting line-up following his arrival on an emergency loan from Sunderland.
As for Barry, I was just talking with Neal about him.
They've been in the news, and in the fantasy discussion so much this season. I'll have to take a look at our tags, but I bet "Manchester City" is the number one discussed topic this season.
Jeremy Spitzberg: biggest fantasy decline: Gareth Barry
Jeremy Spitzberg: ?
Jeremy Spitzberg: he's not even relevant any longer
Jeremy Spitzberg: you'd rather have palacios
Jeremy Spitzberg: at least he gets forward now and again
Neal Thurman: do the numbers back that up? Barry averaging 5.85 for 8 and change while Palacios averaging 3.13 for 5.27
Neal Thurman: neither particularly attractive but I'd like to see what Barry's stats looked like last year with others taking away kicks and PKs from his previous year's totals
Neal Thurman: I can't imagine he was producing over 7.00/match last year for Villa
Jeremy Spitzberg: but when he had a good home game...
Jeremy Spitzberg: or was a 2 gamer...
Jeremy Spitzberg: he was on the radar
Neal Thurman: trueMaybe I'm just suffering from Citeh fatigue.

how bout Ireland
ReplyDeleteEven more irrelevant! ;-)
ReplyDeleteviera is my option this week...
ReplyDeleteSWP come into contention here or we just expect Bellamy and Johnson on the wings? I happen to remember Bellamy playing in the middle of the park recently. Seems a move Citeh should make, being as attack minded as possible versus two tough defensive teams.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see AJ move back to the left of midfield. He doesn't seem comfortable on the right.
ReplyDeleteCiteh also need to figure out a back-line with Bridge seemingly out. Garrido? Zab at left back?
Garrido is an interesting option. Mancini seems to like him and he's a potential kick-taker. I have no idea what I'm going to do with my team until after the Europa League games are over with. Guess I'll see what options I have later this evening.
ReplyDeleteUp the Reds! YNWA!
Caution, Zabaleta has 9 yellow cards.

The question is whether to drop Malouda @ 10 (15+ mkt price):
ReplyDeletefor (Huddlestone OR Modric) AND Adebayor
or (Viera OR other cheap MF) AND Tevez
Adebayor being riskier than Tevez due to injury concern.
Note: Chelsea have a home game vs Wigan to end their down-to-the-wire season, which increases the value of Malouda @ 10.

If Adebayor is injured, does that mean Santa Cruz might come in or is that wishful thinking at its best?
ReplyDeleteWasn't the case last week, but maybe if Citeh are more positive this weekend.
ReplyDelete@HC: The 10-YC amnesty is the 2nd Sunday in April, which was the 10th. The only remaining threshold is that 15 YCs before the end of the season gets you a 3-match suspension. The official regulations are in section 8 on page 314:
