Tottenham skipper Ledley King could be ruled out for eight weeks because of a knee injury, the London has club announced.Not how you want to start a season. Luckily Spurs have a blossoming star in Michael Dawson. But Dawson/King is an imposing partnership. Dawson/Gardner, not so much. And Gardner is just getting over (another!) injury of his own.
The 25-year-old defender had recovered from the broken foot which forced him out of England's World Cup plans but then picked up the knee injury in training.
"Ledley is out with suspected cartilage problems and he could be out for six to eight weeks," said Tottenham manager Martin Jol on Sunday.
"It is a big blow for us."
